As a matter of fact, there are indications which show that he started smoking and drinking again after his stroke. N. Korea's state media KCNA showed on Feb. 25 the photo of Kim smoking a cigarette. On Apr. 14, at the gun salute event for commemorating 97th anniversary of Kim Il-sung's birthday at Daedong River, TV footage from N. Korea's Central TV showed an astray placed on his table. He started drinking a strong liquor again. Last January, while dining with Wang Jiarui, Overseas Liaison Director for Chinese Communist Party, he reportedly had strong N. Korean drinks for hours.
It also reported that the reason why he is going out for inspection tour far more often than in the past may have something to do with his depression. PSD patient tends to suffer from insomnia and doctors usually recommend the patient to be more active.
Since the deterioration of Kim's health could eventually leads to his incapacitation, the system to support his successor Kim Jong-un is already in place.
