After taking off fast from the gates, far faster than anyone assumed it could, the wheels are coming off of the 0bamamobile.
It would be a big slap to Obama if they rule against him. But the SCOTUS has at least decided to hear the case. I don’t know how you could avoid an interstate commerce and changing the bankruptcy laws without the legislature seemed like a no brainer.
Rumor is FIAT is backing out of the deal...
This would figure.
Someone just posed this question to me:
But Ive researched the issue out of curiosity, and came across this article from FiveThirtyEight. Basically it asserts, from collected data, that car dealers are more likely to be Republican in the first place. What would make the raw figures meaningful is to compare the percentage of dealers staying open.
Im at work now and dont have time to search for a counter to this. Any help here, please?
Chairman Barack suffers a setback.
WSJ 5/13/2009: The Obama administration's behavior in the Chrysler bankruptcy is a profound challenge to the rule of law. Secured creditors -- entitled to first priority payment under the "absolute priority rule" -- have been browbeaten by an American president into accepting only 30 cents on the dollar of their claims. Meanwhile, the United Auto Workers union, holding junior creditor claims, will get about 50 cents on the dollar.

I need a little glimmer of hope, but I just can’t help thinking about Lucy and Charlie Brown and the football.
It will be a twist if Judge Ginsberg is remembered 100 years from now—in song, stories, poems and statues in parks—as the justice, who at the last minute, issued the stay that stopped the mad dash toward totalitarianism and preserved the Union.
The most important thing to get from this is both that the branches are separate in practice, not just in theory, and that a politican cannot favor unsecured creditor labor unions over secured creditors as would be a direct contrast to the long tradition of anglo-american contract law.
The GOP and any body who gives a damn about free enterprise needs to dig in and raise hell about this.
If we just sit on our hands and let the government steal millions of dollars we don’t deserve to be free.
Oh hoho someone woke up SCOTUS. About damn time.
