So, you actually believe that he could publicly duel with the press who detest him, lie about him and have unending hours of airtime and gallons of ink ?
If so, that’s extremely sophomoric thinking in the venomous BDS media scenario, and a completely NO WIN situation.
George Bush is a very savvy man with class, integrity, and decency.
If for no other reason, he will not cast stones against the unseemly Blamer (unless something unspeakably outrageous transpires) because of his high respect FOR THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENCY.
Well, not "duel," perhaps, but rather forthrightly state a position and defend it publicly.
BTW, before you dipped your keyboard in vitriol, you might have notoiced that I agree with you on

Which is exactly why I maintained that his silence now is a good thing. When he held the job, it was not a good thing. Period. Like it or not, effective communication is part of the POTUS' job. If the MSM is as always against the GOP, a Republican POTUS has to "go over their heads" and talk directly to the people.
We'll never know whether that would have worked for GW, but my only thought on the matter is that he might have tried.
