It is a real possibility now.
Most Americans are viewing this in terms of being thrown into a Turkish prison in the 1960s, or into a Mexican jail, something that can be wiggled out of eventually. It is at least 10x as bad, and is unfathomable from a Western/Democracy perspective, and I would say is even twice or three times as bad as Iran. These are just completely different animals.
