Then, how many reports about Europe?

This could be huger than the way portrayed. the guy might have been, indirectly, a major Russian asset.

I thing that you might want to look at the "Red Five" concept. Agents never operate alone they have a controller who operates a number of agents none of whom are known to each other, down fall of the Rosenberg's and Hiss. If I were a controller who would I toss, an old agent, a bit of misdirection, there has to be more to this than meets the eye.
