The problem is that the rest of the world uses a 40 foot container. For domestic use we use 48 & 52 foot containers. There are plenty of empty domestic containers, but you can’t use them for export because most foreign nations won’t take them. The international containers are piled up in China empty, but they won’t ship empties across the ocean and their exports are down.
Wrong!!! But funny!!!
“For domestic use we use 48 & 52 foot containers.”
Won’t be any in CA, max trailer length is 45’ here and thew largest containers are 40s.
“containers are piled up in China empty, but they wont ship empties across the ocean and their exports are down”
First off.....Americans are tired of buying chinese junk.
If we made the products in America that we USED to make, many more people would have jobs
Second.......if the world wants to eat, they better send containers. if they don’t want our corn, I know several ethanol plants that will gladly BUY it.
Third....why do we have to comply with international container standards for exports when what we have is perfectly functional? don’t we make containers in America??
sadly, probably not.
America better wake up FAST and start making things here again. Or we deserve the economy china allows us to have.
It’s good to hear imports are down and exports are up.
But is a container crisis a way for the chinese to manipulate our economy so we buy more of their junk???
Let me know where I can get a substantial number of 52â containers. I have customers that would snap them up.;-)
