Virginia's Democratic Primary is five days away, and the three-way race for the party's governor nomination is tight.
Gun rights advocates don't typically engage in democratic politics. However, Northern Virginia-based "opencarry.org" is encouraging its members, republican, independent, and libertarian, to go vote in the Democratic primary and cast their vote for Brian Moran.
During his time in the House of Delegates, the website says Moran had what they call a pro-gun record. That includes votes to allow concealed handguns in school parking lots and to preempt all local gun control laws.
They say that "pretty good" record is far superior to Terry McAuliffe. They say his governorship would be a disaster for gun owners, adding Moran is also preferable to the third man in the race, State Senator Creigh Deeds.
Deeds actually got the endorsement of the National Rifle Association four years ago when he ran against Bob McDonnell for Attorney General.
Before any nation is taken over, the guns must be taken from the people. Our nation is in grave danger, greater than ever before right now.
I think I’ll probably vote for Deeds. He is from Virginia and should be pretty good on guns.
Let’s give those good ol’ boys a “high five”
Maybe there’s hope afterall.
Apparently not as good as Moran, according to those who would know best... the gun-owners associations. Remember that the NRA has a serious history of compromising our rights, not sticking up for them. They have endorsed legislation and candidates that are ANATHEMA to the interests of gun-owners.
I do hope y’all are just talking about the primary and not the general election.

Fair enough. But I do believe Deeds will be the most difficult to defeat in the general.
Just sayin’.
And, regadless of what this group says NONE OF THE DEMS will be your “friend” on guns.
61 dems are telling obama to take a flying leap in case he starts his gun control agenda.
So far the NRA’s strategy for ending the us vs. them seems to be working.
By the way, thanks to the NRA for the Chicago lawsuit.
The ONLY reason any of this talk is going on is to keep Terry McAwful as far away from the governor’s mansion as possible.

EDITORIAL: Anti-reason on guns Kaine vetoes five bills despite evidence as well as public support
When Tim Kaine campaigned for Virginia governor in 2005, he ran an ad implying that former National Rifle Association President Charlton Heston was praising him. His campaign claimed that "Tim Kaine strongly supports the Second Amendment." Once he won office, Mr. Kaine vetoed one gun bill after another that would have helped Virginians protect themselves from criminals.
So, I'm just sayin', use this info to vote how you may in the primary. But in the general election, if you believe any of the Democrat three are your "friend" concerning guns, you're just fooling yourself.

The GOP held their convention last week, not a primary.

Bill Bolling, Current Lt. Governor for re-election
Ken Cuccinelli, State Senator, for Attorney General

What are the polls saying?
For the primary, it’s a toss up. Pick a poll and you’ll find a different leader.
For the general, McDonnell typically leads all three. But he’s been the unofficial nominee for months now, so that has to factor into it.
What kind of guy is this Bob McDonnell?
He’s not perfect. But he’s pretty solidly conservative. He’ll be a good governor.

if a guy (or gal) ain’t like Regan resurrected,
then everybody wants to jump on their imperfections
and self-destruct, so that we never get anywhere.
Oh, don’t get me wrong. He’s darn good.
