Puddicombe had another motive for murder, Lissaman told the jury, as she was the sole beneficiary of Hoy's $250,000 life insurance and pension policies. Puddicombe, now 36, will go on trial after Pechaluk's trial ends, probably in two months.

If Pechaluk really did it then it seems a Lizzy Borden situation of lack of proof beyond a reasonable doubt. Maybe the evidence is stronger against Puddicombe (can you believe that name?).

That was pretty sharp, but I was axing about the folks who should be trying to get a grip on the axe death rate...and especially the concealed hand axes...they are being sold in axe shows around the country...
