Good to see them leave Iraq.
I find the AQ recent focus on Pakistan’s leadership and military & intelligence services interesting. With the recent attack on the ISI the Taliban, AQ, and LeT seem to be saying, “thanks for sponsoring us now we’ll take over”. I’m curious to see if AQ will soon try to take over areas within Punjab as they have done in Swat and elsewhere.
They must really be feeling their oats if they think they can go after the central government and not get a strong response. The Punjabis have cared little what AQ and their allies did in the Pashtun regions (they have responded only enough to keep the US from direct intervention) but this is entirely different.
I would not be at all surprised to see a military coup before the end of summer.
