He acknowledges their right to be angry by virtue of what's been done to them. First, he slips smoothly from the tension between Islam and the US to oppression of colonialism. Last time I read my history, the US had missed out on the Middle East colonies. Second, during the Cold War we used them as toys on a chess board. Go back and study your history Barry and you'll see that they did a pretty good job of playing the US off against the Soviets and vice versa.

Saul Alinsky’s bell is ringing. That was his technique to organize the poor in poor neighborhoods, to give them justification to vent their anger, and a venue to do so. He’d spend a while making sure that anger was stoked, justified or not.
