My mothers mother lived with us 4 months out of the year..She spend 4 months at each of my mothers 2 brothers. The 3rd brother, due to health problems couldn't take grandma so he gave X amount of dollars to each of the other siblings...Our house had 4 children and 2 bedrooms...we still made room for grandma...My bedroom had 1 double bed, that my sister and I shared and a twin bed for grandma. My brother slept on a day bed in the dining room. My oldest sister was married...lived elsewhere...No one felt put upon by having grandma with us. It was expected.. Every year they took turns using grandma as a dependant on income taxes..
