On Wednesday, June 3, the National Rifle Association filed a petition for certiorari to the U.S. Supreme Court in the case of NRA v. Chicago. The NRA strongly disagrees with yesterday's decision issued by a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, holding that the Second Amendment does not apply to state and local governments
Pretty big lie there, even for you.
You poor pathetic thing you.
That comes directly from the Nunn decision, which you posted. Hoisted by your own petard. Again.
Poor deluded Roscoe. Can't even keep straight who he's arguing with...
Your misinterpretation of "Art 6 para 2." was universally rejected by the Framers. Not that leftists give a whit about original intent.
Hundreds of times. Bill Clinton would blush at the audacity of your dishonesty.
Here’s where you’re missing the point. The quotes by the Founders and early patriots are relevant to the 2nd Amendment discussion because they reveal their strongly held opinions and their steadfast positions on the issue that resulted in the 2nd Amendment.
You’re still being anal about this. You have tunnel vision, which is tending to make you a dishonest debater.
The quotes from those men prove that they strongly believed the right to keep and bear arms is an individual right of the people which cannot and should not be restricted by ANY level of government. To take your position on the interpretation of the 2nd Amendment, you would have to simultaneously believe that all of these men turned their backs on their strongly held beliefs in order to enable State governments to usurp the natural law right of the people to keep and bear arms.
That, sir, in an insane bit of logic for you to hold to. That in itself explains why so many FReepers on this thread have taken strong opposition to your insane logical leaps.
Clueless, sourceless...
I've posted quotes FROM THE FOUNDERS. You've got the Brady bunch.
Not a winning scenario for you...
You are projecting again...
None of them said there should be no state or local regulations. You're not telling the truth.
None that support your dream of centralized government and rule from the bench.
And you’re proving my point about your anal approach to the wording of quotes.
In #507, which you were replying to in #510, I never said those men specifically used the words state or local. I said the quotes made it clear they strongly believed that the right of the people to keep and bear arms is not to be restricted by ANY level of government.
But you, as a dishonest debater, somehow twist my direct words in your mind and they come out “state and local”. How do you do that and still manage to sit upright?
Well it is a gateway drug after all.
The point of all this is simple: Win. In warfare, nothing else matters. If you cannot win clean, win dirty. But win. Our victories are ultimately in humanitys interests, while our failures nourish monsters.
I once was a beer drinker maximus, but find my solace elsewhere today, yet I still shed tears and they have come a lot more easily over the last few months.
And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone
for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in
pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
Zechariah 12:3
The term in that day as used in the Old Testament commonly
indicates what is refered to prophetically as the end times
The state is no less a tyrant than the Court in this case. If you love gun control so much, I challenge you to put this sign in front of your house.
Now either arm yourself, or just go away.
Leftists always hate lawful government and love judicial activism. Thanks for proving it.
None of them said or even implied that there should be no state or local regulations. Ever.
You are blind.
Mojave is a condescending a**hole. You and everyone else are wasting bandwidth conversing with him. He would have no problem if your state chose to completely ignore the 2nd Amendment, because he does not believe that the 2nd Amendment is a Right.
Because I don't share your hatred of original intent and your love of judicial activism?
