Republican Senators neuter Federal Reserve Transparency bill

Republican Senators neuter Federal Reserve Transparency bill

Things like this are examples of why I am apolitical. I am not an advocate of a single party system. These blame those and those blame these, and round and round we go. The name of the game is "keep the sheep fat and happy". And it does not help that I am in Alabama myself and have been all my life. It helps to remember thou that those in Washington truly do not represent their constituents.

snip

HR 1207, the bill to Audit the Fed, now has 179 co-sponsors. Currently the leadership of the two parties has not addressed this legislation until recently. A Senate audit bill that is unrelated to HR 1207 titled “HC-45” was introduced to audit the Fed and was promptly amended to limit the scope. It appears now that a so-called limited government Republican by the name of Richard Shelby did the watering down of the bill. Apparently he has written into the margins of the bill in pencil "with respect to a single and specific partnership or corporation." That means that the scope of the GAO’s audit has been severely limited. This modified version of the amendment does not give GAO authority to look at all of the additional taxpayer risk. Why the secrecy congressmen? Senator Charles Grassley conceded to the amendments, and has therefore shown his stripes as willing to compromise the financial security of the United States citizenry for his own political gain.

Voters would do well to remember Senator Grassley and Shelby as people who do not support oversight or transparency into the monetary system of the United States. These Senators have abdicated their responsibility to the people and should immediately step down.

Kinda takes the wind out of the “there is no NWO of other controlling entity” crowd. What else explains this other than some one not elected did not want it to happen.

The tea parties could be the platform from which to launch grassroot campaigns to recall senators like Shelby Grassley and Lindsey.

“Honorable” Senator Shelby,

We have today launched a campaign to recall your sorry ass for attempting to obstruct the will of the people to have transparency in govt. We the people have a right to know what is going on in the federal reserve involving our taxes, our economy, and our monetary system. We the people have demanded a complete and thorough audit of the federal reserve system. While you Senator, in flagrant fashion, are attempting to obstruct such an audit in order, we must assume, to protect someone, or some group, or perhaps even yourself, from disclosure of illegal activities perhaps involving corruption at the highest levels of govt. Nothing else can explain your attempt to limit the scope of an audit of the federal reserve.

We ask you Senator, when the IRS audits one of your constituents, have you introduced legislation to limit it’s scope?

More like "divide and conquer".

They put a lot of effort to keeping things evenly divided. It keeps us all yelling at each other than taking pitchforks to those truely responsible for what is going on.

“Those who sell their liberty for security are understandable, if pitiable, creatures. Those who sell the liberty of others for wealth, power, or even a moment’s respite, deserve only the end of a rope... America’s historic misfortune is that her people have seldom been equal to the ideals upon which their nation was established. “— L. Neil Smith, The American Zone (2001)

Tactical Reflections.

Quite a few of these are expounded upon in his book Lever Action.

"Where is the news source quote for this??? So far I see only the words of a blogger..."

This is the kind of thing that drives me crazy. I edit a news and commentary site connected with a local radio show here and Vermont. There are a lot of "news" items that I would like to include on our site but the practice of documenting sources is virtually non-existent among conservative bloggers. I have been bitten by too many false alarms to post anything without documentation. In several blogs it is alleged that the source is Senator Grassley's website. I could not find it when I went to his website. A number of blogs repeat this but none offer any links. I did find an article on the Huffington Post that at least has a copy of the document at the bottom of the page. I would still prefer a link to the actual document. If it has been pulled down, then explain this but ALWAYS provide a link!

Absolutely. ;^)

"-as expected, this bill isn’t going anywhere, is it?"

Nope, as expected.

It was the thought that counts, though. :o)
