Does make you wonder when you see how far the debris field was. Yes, it does. I saw somewhere that there are two debris fields about 35-40 miles apart. That pattern suggests the possibility of two aircraft and thus a mid-air collision.
Has anyone heard if ships are at the debris fields yet?

I think it suggests a single plane coming apart at altitude and the debris spreading over a huge area as it falls. Lightening might POSSIBLY cause electrical failure, but not catastrophic failure of the entire craft.....

If there was a mid-air collision, certainly the families of the passengers on the other plane may have made some phone calls to find out why it hasn't arrived yet. In short, not likely.

Two aircraft? I had not heard of that possibility. If the plane broke in two (for whatever reason) could you still get 2 debris fields that far apart? Wish I had paid more attention in physics...
