“The president said the United States and other parts of the Western world “have to educate ourselves more effectively on Islam.”

“And one of the points I want to make is, is that if you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we’d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world,” Mr. Obama said. “And so there’s got to be a better dialogue and a better understanding between the two peoples.”

I kinda echo the sentiments of this guy:

Obamandias

What should he say to Muslim world when he is in Cairo? Is this the same Cairo where the #1 bestseller in local markets and bookstores is the infamous anti-Semitic screed “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion”? Is this same Muslim world that complains about the plight of the Palestinians but yet doesn’t want them in their own countries?

Is this the same Egypt that for years has given a wink and a nod to Hamas and allowed them to funnel weapons into Gaza to fire rockets into Israel?

I suppose that he will apologize for all the evil we have done to the Muslim world, haul out George Bush for more rhetorical flogging, and in a new twist he will most likely publicly pressure Israel while in an Arab capital to show his “solidarity” with the Muslim world.

Just once I would like to see Obama give one of his patented “Apology Tour 2009” speeches in Peoria or Pittsburgh or Pensacola.

But it really doesn’t matter what he says. He could read a section of the Cairo phonebook and the mainstream media would call it the greatest speech ever given by any American president including Abraham Lincoln. I am sure they will hail it as a combination of the Sermon in the Mount, the Gettysburg Address and Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

But before the Obama faithful and his MSM PR entourage gets too far ahead of itself they should remember the following poem. Given where his big Muslim speech will be, it seems appropriate since it was written about that well known Egyptian Pharaoh, Rameses the Great.

Obamandias

With Apologies to Percy Bysshe Shelley

I met a traveler from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal these words appear:
“My name is Obamandias, king of kings:
Look upon my works, ye Mighty, and despair!”
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

And in keeping with the literary and classics theme of this post here is a little something that the Obama folks need to think about every day to remind them that he and they are mere mortals not descended from Mt. Olympus sent to save the world.

During the period of the Roman Republic before Julius Caesar and the emperors that followed, when a Roman general was victorious in battle, he would return to Rome and parade in triumph down the Via Appia to the Campus Martius, or military parade ground, where he would turn over command of his legions to the power of the Roman Senate.

No Roman general was allowed to bring his legions into the city and they camped on the outskirts of town. This was to maintain civilian authority and prevent military coups.

As he paraded in his chariot to the cheers of the Roman people, he would be preceded by the defeated enemies who were now slaves and carts laden with treasure from the conquered lands.

Standing behind him was a slave who held a crown just above his head, never placing it on his head and whispering in his ear over and over, “Sic transit gloria mundi...The glory of the world is fleeting”.

Hero today...bum tomorrow, because after all he is just a man.

Obama is becoming more and more disgusting every single day! Everyday we are greeted with multiple outrages and insults from this man, yet we are suppose to hold our tongues and jump on the bandwagon to communism? We are suppose to apologize to Islamists that have killed thousands of our citizens and terrorized our entire country? We are suppose to ‘sacrifice’, so that our government can destroy private property and nationalize one industry after another? We are not to care when Obama singles out Americans and veterans as ‘terrorist threats’, yet mentions not a word when a muslim black man shoots 3 US military members and kills one? We are not suppose to notice as Obama throws one ally after another to the wolves with ‘official’ insults and slights?

I could go on and on.

When will the tipping point be reached? Will Americans continue to participate in their own demeaning and demise?
