I had a little adventure today trying to cast my vote.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2263263/posts

Apparently someone at election central decided that I should have voted in the democrat primary last year. Fortunately I was able to file a provisional ballot. I’ll see if they count it.

Looks like more people are voting in the GOP primary than in the Rat primary. I wonder if the MSM will notice?

Of course, had Ford been chosen, it’s probably unlikely he would’ve run again in ‘84 and he certainly wouldn’t have run for President in ‘88 (at the age of 75). The big question would’ve been who Reagan would’ve chosen to run with him in ‘84... maybe he’d have chosen then-Sen. Quayle ! Naah, more likely he’d have probably picked my Senator, Majority Leader Howard Baker. He’d have been a mind-numbing “moderate.”

almost 50% and lonegan is down 20 thousand votes...i can’t see him gaining 20,000

so i guess we’re going to have no choice but to support Christie...great(sarcasm)

Not only that — why is an Ohio FReeper so interested in the NJ governor race?

Lots of posters from other states commenting on this race.
Helps keep the thread moving anyway.

> seems the lonegan folks here are more likely to punish all of nj if their guy doesn’t win

That is precisely what a lot of us are planning to do. I described it earlier today and called it my "scorched-earth voting policy." To paraphrase the Emperor from Star Wars, everyone will now pay the price for RINOs' lack of vision.

The GOP is getting around 30% turnout. There was no serious contest for the Dems, so they are getting around 10%.

Not a good move. Four more years of Corzine will destroy New Jersey. ANYBODY is better than Corzine.

(derisive snort) Go support those failed liberal opinions that dissent from conservativism. (Why should you change now?) Trying to cleverly turn things around for you and your RINO friends only make you look... well... like a RINO. Suprise, suprise!

I happened to be on the main street (Springfield Ave.) of Summit (Union County) this morning at about 8:30 am. Christie and his wife Mary Beth were there visiting a deli, but I was the only one on the sidewalk. I got to meet him and talk to him for a minute. I told him that I wanted unity among the Republicans, and resented the vicious campaign ads in this primary, particularly the ones attacking him.

He told me that those were not even Lonegan ads, but were put out by a group funded by Democrat governors with Corzine money. He said that whether he or Lonegan wins, he is sure that they will close ranks.

It shows how sneaky those ads were: a chance to take really cheap shots at Christie, while using the primary contest for cover.

I was glad that Christie pointed out what was really happening. He said that he watched one TV program, and it had 17 ads attacking him.

Never say that. There are things worse than liberal Democrat Governors... Liberal Democrat Governors who are elected as Republicans.

> Four more years of Corzine will destroy New Jersey

Yes, I know.

Have you ever known someone who's been through Marine boot camp? You have to destroy the man before you can build a Marine. New Jersey under another RINO is just as unfixable and unsalvageable as under a Dem; it will just happen slightly more slowly.

Scorched earth. My new policy.

Cristie is saying he is a conservative and not a Christie Whitman type. My advice, as a former staffer for the Sandman for Governor campaign in 1973 is to NOT trust, but verify, assuming, as it sadly appears, that he wins this thing. See who is on his staff, talk to experienced GOP conservatives.

Not a good move. Four more years of Corzine will destroy New Jersey. ANYBODY is better than Corzine.

Four more years of Gray Davis will destroy California. ANYBODY is better than Gray Davis.

New Jersey is owned and operated by the education mafia (and God knows what other mafia). Like the hopeless drunk who wakes up in a dumpster one afternoon covered in his own feces, urine, and vomit, New Jersey must hit rock bottom before there can be any hope of recovery. Let Corzine and the rats finish the place off. But even then, I don't know how New Jersey can ever shake off the leaches and ticks of the all-powerful education mafia. Good luck with that.
