I'd like to see any potential Republican candidate pull in the numbers that Palin did for political appearances.

Every place she spoke the base was out in full force and going nuts for the woman. Tens of thousands of people at events, thousands turned away - the base loves this woman and what she believes.

The money that was donated to the Mccain campaign the day after her nomination was through the roof. She announces and asks for donations she'll need more than one campaign chest.

The others will never pull in her numbers. 99.8% of people I know or have spoke to who voted R this time around voted for Palin. They stated as such. Palin is the only Conservative the libs are terrified of. They know she can win.

Imagine her debating Obama? Oh, my head swims at the thought - she would clean his clock. There wouldn't be any of the McCain stumble bum antics either.

- and as far as the Senate goes...she leaves the Governorship of Alaska with all its administrative duties to become a junior member of Congress with a Democratic majority? What the hell does she manage to get done there? Not a damned thing except the anger of Alaskans.

She serves America and the the conservative movement best as the Gov. of Alaska.

I think people are being very short sided and judgemental when they say that she only appeals to the base or that her support is just a minority faction.

I beg to differ - I would have never considered myself part of the base and joined FR last year because of her and I know many more like me that were prob. conservative but never politically involved at all - voted but didn't really care about it - if that makes any sense?

I also know plenty of conservative Dem's here in MD that voted for her and women who got excited about her that otherwise don't vote.

I truly think that if these tea parties take off and she starts to get herself back into the public (and I'm sure based on guidance from someone behind the scenes she is taking a breather for the moment) we will see a lot more support - plain and simple people are tired of the establishment on both sides.

Unfortunately, the Republican leadership, hate this woman and everything, she stands for. Rush has said many times the Country Club Republicans, would gladly trade the base for the Hispanic vote. They actually hate the base and the people that support them.

The base is to Republicans as Black is to Democrats.
