The fact the Saudis won't talk to Israel or allow Jews in their sandbox is just the beginning. The Arabs insist on a "right of return" (meaning the suicide of the Jewish State) and a restoration of the 1967 borders (meaning forced relocation of tens of thousands of Jews from the suburbs of Jerusalem and ceding the Wailing Wall to the Arabs). And to finish if off, there is no Pali "state" in waiting because half of it is governed by Hamas and half by Fatah and there is no general government to negotiate a deal.

So, Mr. Messiah, how the bloody hell do you think you can do any more than President Bush to negotiate a "two-state solution" when there is absolutely no basis for any deal???

Intransigent? The Saudis don’t allow public worship by any religion other than their own. Particularly non-western Christians are subject to having their meetings broken up and the worshippers arrested, the pastors have been sentenced to death (although usually commuted).

Any muslim accepting Christ faces execution if he isn’t simply murdered by his family.

Israel is a free country. Arabs by and large don’t even understand the concept.

The New York Times inadvertently highlights how much more intransigent than Israel most Arab states are. President Barack Obama is soon heading to Saudi Arabia, where he will present wish-lists from the U.S. government, from the Israeli government, and from the Palestinian Authority. Israel isn't asking for much -- just a few symbolic tourist visas, meetings between Saudi officials and their Israeli counterparts, and the opening of a Saudi interests office in Tel Aviv. "These would be a tall order for the Arab kingdom," the Times says.
