To: Peter Horry

There must be some backstory to this. Why exactly is he not allowing tours of the boats? Are they owned by the wrong people, does he claim it costs too much in police and rescue to guard them (hard to justify that since they will need police to keep people away)?

What possible reason can there be for NOT wanting them?

There must have been a rumor that a Republican might be on one of them. We already have at least three here that I know of.

Seems to be budgetary problems and his not wanting to provide services for the event. Here is a story that may shed some light on it http://wbztv.com/local/tall.ships.boston.2.973908.html . I saw the tall ships first in 1976, seen them a couple of times since then .... plan to see them in Charleston this time. I can’t imagine anyone not in favor of an “open house” for such magnificent vessels.
