“What about socialization?” is my favorite whine... goes well with smoked cheddar cheese.
I just say “we’re not raising socialists”.
Are you talking about the Contemporary services over taking the Traditional? We have both services with Sunday School in between. Some Church’s have the Contemporary services in the evening. The young people tend to like the Contemporary. Some argue that Contemporary is just entertainment. It has torn our church into. I do agree that we are twenty years behind in building our own schools.
I have nothing against Southern Baptists, but you all are usually so stiff necked that it's irresistible to poke some fun. I had a bunch of guys over for dinner (regular Christian group) and was serving a couple of bottles of 6 year old cab to the guys when I got around to my SB friend last.
"Oh, that's right, you don't drink alcohol", I says. So I offered him a soft drink which he accepts. I take his wine glass over to the cupboard and pour some juice into a child's sippy cup and surprised him with it. Everybody roared laughing, including him (a bit red in the face). He took it well, but I noticed the next time we played volleyball in the back yard he was aiming all his spikes and hard serves at me. Gives me a laugh remembering it.
