"According to Army Lt. Col. Thomas F. Artis, the two victims were not recruiters, but part of a recruiting program called Hometown Recruiting Assistance. Did it mention if they were in uniform or not? Not in a uniform would lead me to believe it may not be military related, but maybe a "random act of violence" or something personal perhaps.

No indication - however they apparently had just been (or were just headed to) the nearby recruiting office - so presumably they would be in full uniform with medals, etc as part of the recruiting progras

When my son did recruiter’s assistance for the Marines he was in uniform. This program is a way for the service people to get an extra trip home to see loved ones as well.
Prayers for the families of the victims and the recruiters who were working with America's best.
