It's highly unlikely that Ismael is the seed of Arabs.

In fact, Ismael Mother was a Bedouin slave, proof that the Arabs already existed at the time.

She was originally from Egypt, and the biblical trail shows her heading back to Egypt after Abraham sent her away.

It was Mohammad that tried to make a claim to Ismael to validate his religion and establish himself as a valid prospect for the Jewish Messiah he tried to claim he was to the Jews in Medina.

The dilution of the Arab race with Jewish blood making them semantic comes from Mohammads time, when he began slaughtering Jewish tribes in the Arabian peninsula and taking their women as slaves, and of course breeding with them, wiping out any future Arab claims of being a pure race forever.
