Camden, the cesspool of hell. Don’t expect salvation of votes from there.

“The retarded voters of New Jersey will still vote for the RAT come the election.”

Yep. Polls in New Jersey mean nothing. That state pulls this scripted head fake every election — poll numbers raise hopes for the GOP candidate throughout most of the campaign, only to see it all slip away to the dem by late October. Those people up there are far too dependent on the “mother’s milk” of big government to toddle away from it. Also, though they may seem trained against him now, the media won’t let their guy Corzine down when it counts. By the fall, they’ll invent a scandal against Christie and Jerseyites will predictably curl up at the feet of Corzine. I have no doubt he’ll win by double digits.

Camden County also includes several blue collar suburbs and the giant corporate park that is Cherry Hill. It is solid Dem territory (as are, sad to say, nearby Gloucester and Burlington Counties) on a national basis, but it will be interesting to see if Christie or Lonergan can make inroads into the white Democrat areas in the suburban areas of said counties.

As for Camden City, it is, without a doubt, like something out of a late night Sci-Fi post-apocolyptic movie. Makes Chester, PA look like Chappaqua.

Yep. It's kind of funny. Living in southeastern PA, we see a lot of NJ news. NJ voters will vote in a liberal Democrat who says he will raise their taxes (Florio, McSkeevey, Corine).

Then when he does, they will complain about it and protest.

Then when the election comes around, they will go back to the liberal Democrat like a beaten wife, usually because the Democrat will tell them if the Republican wins they won't be able to abort with abandon, and that's most important so they accept the taxes.

Pretty interesting. Didn’t even know that Cherry Hill was in the county. They must cost those homeowners a fortune in taxes to support the Camden failures.

Don't laugh (or do!): There are folks on the Montclair web boards who brag about their ability to pay high property taxes to support Newark, Irvington, and East Orange.

CH has alot of commercial property to tax, so that helps defray costs on homeowners to a certain extent. Haddonfield on the other hand...

Clemenza, your posts are great. I’m not laughing, I’m crying. I got hit in Hoboken very hard. The corruption in Hudson is sick. The cost per pupil here is 24K. There are no results but a good HS football team.

The schools stink and are ripping us off, a third of our tax bill.

Why is everyone supposed to support Christie?

Because the establishment in the NJ Republican Party says we should. The party hacks are of, by, and for the party hacks. It's pure power politics and nothing else. They talk a good game about principles when they need votes, and then its back to business as usual.

Like I've said before here on FR, people in NJ suffer from battered vote syndrome. They bitch and piss and moan about how bad things are/are getting but continue to vote for the same bastards causing the problems in the first place. Trenton insiders can't fix Trenton. Lonegan or bust. I will NOT vote for Christie in the general election should he win tomorrow. I will not compromise my convictions, and I will not vote for candidates that support 2nd Amendment infringements.

Corzine is not popular with most right now

Historically, this is about the only thing that can lead to a Republican win in New York or New Jersey. When the voters get absolutely sick of the incompetence and corruption of their Dem leaders, maybe once in 20 years, then they will vote in a Republican.

Unfortunately, that Republican is usually a RINO. And when his time is up, it's back to the Dems for another 20 years.

Well I would love to see Lonegan move ahead but really if it doesn’t happen I don’t care how Corzine gets tossed.

Just toss him out on his arse.

Corzine is not popular with most right now......

He's about to get very, VERY popular. NJ gets over $17B from Obama's stimulus.

News reports say Dems Corzine, Lautenberg and Menendez briefed 700 muni and county officials about getting their share. Corzine set up a task force to monitor distribution; a Web site provides technical assistance for munis seeking funds. Cunning strategy----minority areas get blanketed with stimulus to reelect Dems.
$2.6B Medicaid assistance,
$1.3B "fiscal stabilization,"
$651M highway infrastructure,
$524M mass transit,
$279M Title I grants,
$200M clean water programs,
$121M "weatherization" assistance,
$101M public housing,
$56M workforce development.
$34M child care development, and,
$27M community development block grants.

Stimulus is a sleazy Dem re/election gravy train. No one outside The Democrat Machine gets stiumulus.

You know what? You provide an excellent detailed list but I think it’s failing is clear when you read it and what you know about the stimpuke.

There is not going to be any impact from this stuff that people will step back with appreciation to the State and say I too am a statist now. I will vote to continue the power of the State and Corzine.

In fact, much of this stuff won’t even begin to have any impact until next year.
Then when that happens, you will have a new gov looking at how to more effectively use those funds.

That person will get “credit” of course where none is due but there it is.

Menendez will mobilize the machine and Corzine will be crying that it isn’t enough.

I will toast to his defeat. In fact i will have several.
