MIAMI - A popular Miami priest nicknamed "Father Oprah" said yesterday that "church is about forgiveness" during his first sermon since leaving the Roman Catholic Church after photographs surfaced of him kissing his girlfriend on the beach. The Rev. Alberto Cutie received a standing ovation after his sermon at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection. Episcopal priests can marry, unlike their Catholic counterparts. It will take Cutie at least a year to be certified as an Episcopal priest.

Cutie has said his decision to switch was made over time, not since the photos in a magazine rocked South Florida's Spanish-speaking community, where he was known for his good looks and as the host of a TV show on relationships

I dont believe that Cutie should be referred to as “Father” or “The Reverend” any longer.

It is nice that the Episcoplaians gave him a standing ovation, they are welcome to him. I cant help but wonder now how many border line Catholics he will drag there with him.

Yup. It’s about forgiveness...then your repent your sins and promise God that you won’t do it again.

As Christ said to the woman he saved from a stoning, “go and sin no more.”

I dont believe that Cutie should be referred to as “Father” or “The Reverend” any longer.

"Father" title will depend on whether he will be the rector of a high or broad Episcopal church...If it is a high church, then expect all the "smells and bells" of a RC Mass including the title.
