So Tiller is killed in a Lutheran church. I wonder how he rationalized what he was doing with the Christian faith. It seems to me he was outside the pale of any possible interpretation of Christianity.

Wouldn’t it be odd if the killer really intended to kill anyone, just as long as it was done in a church...and he didn’t even know who Tiller was?

The church in question is part of the liberal mainline ELCA. There were probably no theological issues with his line of work, and he probably gave well at collection time.

There were many Christians who voted for Obama who reasoned that abortion was just one minor issue in the messiah’s all important platform of hope and change.
