Yes, shame there weren’t men like Obama around then that could have helped us find the “middle ground” on slavery. Maybe tax breaks to let the slaves get educated. Limits on the number of new slaves that can be brought to America.
Tax credits for actually freeing a slave. Maybe a slave lottery where once a month a slave drawn at random gets freed. Obama would have sought this middle ground........

Are you familiar with the Missouri Compromise? That was back when the states actually had rights, though.

Yep, a shame. Instead, we had a president who interpreted the Constitution to suit himself, spent astronomical amounts of tax money on one-size-fits-all-big-government 'solutions,' pissed off half the country for generations, and got a lot of Americans killed in the process.

Sounds kind of familiar...
