NOBODY has advocated that we kill any other abortionists.

NOBODY has said that this is the best or only way to advance the prolife cause.

MANY have said that this will hurt the cause.

Some, me included, have said that we understand why this has happened.

That does not mean that I support violence, or advocate violence, it means that our system is not working, currently, and that some people have given up hope.

How about some support for the 1st Amendment?

How about some courage?

How about the idea that this is a complicated situation?

How about the hypocrisy on the left?

What is wrong with demands that the LEFT apologize for William Ayers, if we are to apologize for this shooter?

I am not responsible for this vigilante, therefore:

I REFUSE TO APOLOGIZE FOR THIS SHOOTER!

I suggest you take the same approach.

If we all did, the left would learn that the “guilt by association” tactic does not work, and this tactic and this story would end.

While willfully supplying what is easily portrayed as the implication.

NOBODY has said that this is the best or only way to advance the prolife cause.

So what? Giving your enemy a weapon to use against you in the court of public opinion is stupid. One of the things which has done so much for the pro-life movement is its civility. This kind of cheering for a murder can vaporize a great deal of hard work.

MANY have said that this will hurt the cause.

Yup, and I agree with them.

Some, me included, have said that we understand why this has happened.

To me, this is a somewhat dishonest statement. "Understanding" implies that you recognize a what you deem to be a logical rationale. Giving hot-blooded murder the imprimatur of "logic" or rationality is to derive association thereby. I don't regard that as productive.

That does not mean that I support violence, or advocate violence, it means that our system is not working, currently, and that some people have given up hope.

I never said that it did, but that the responses on this thread can be used as if you had.

How about some support for the 1st Amendment?

What the hell does a prohibition on government forcibly constraining speech have to do with my expressing an opinion that giving such a discussion top billing is counterproductive?

How about some courage?

I've willingly taken enough abuse on this thread to belie that imputation. If you knew what I do you'd have a bit more respect.

How about the idea that this is a complicated situation?

It's not as if I hadn't said that before.

How about the hypocrisy on the left?

Read the link.

What is wrong with demands that the LEFT apologize for William Ayers, if we are to apologize for this shooter?

Nothing. What does that have to do with the topic of this thread?

I am not responsible for this vigilante, therefore:

I REFUSE TO APOLOGIZE FOR THIS SHOOTER!

Nobody asked you to do so.

I suggest you take the same approach.

If we all did, the left would learn that the “guilt by association” tactic does not work, and this tactic and this story would end.

No. I prefer my approach, thank you.
