The Church obviously is made up of sinners - we all fall short of the Glory of God. That being said, a Church that permits someone to attend that has ongoing sin issues should first confront that person and if it continues bring it before the Church. This is clearly taught in Matthew 18. If that person persists in that sin he is to be disfellowshipped. This church obviously does not follow Scriptural prescription in this instance.
It certainly is not obvious. For example, how often has he been going to this church? For all you or I know it could be his first attendance. Then again, how can you "disfellowship" someone for a sin, if said person does not recognise he is committing a sin? Surely you first have to convince them that it is! Anyway, we ALL have ongoing sin issues. His are just more visible (at least to us).
I agree, the church is the Bride Of Christ, and services are primarily for fellowship of the Bride with the object of worship. If an unbeliever attends, it should be with the aim of repentance and salvation. Evangelism is for reaching the lost, and that occurs outside the church building.
Saying that, it seems this is one of those apostate churches which disregards God’s Word. There’s a lot of that going on in the latter days.
