“revolt against them is justified (like war) only as a last resort and with proportionate means etc.”

When is enough, enough? Do we wait for the ovens to be turned on?

“This was vigilante justice and it violates the rule of law. Both anarchy and abortion are evil. Two wrongs don’t make a right.”

Vigilante’s are bad but we are no longer a nation under the rule of law. Our own govt ignores the laws they don’t like all the time. They break the law and cover for their cohorts. They subvert the law and twist its meaning for their own benefit.

The only people with respect for the law are conservatives with some exceptions.

Calm down. Declaring that “we are no longer a nation under the rule of law” is ridiculous. We have plenty of leaders who are violating the laws but if anyone can simply stand up, declare that the rule of law has ended and use that to justify taking matters into his own hands—which is what you just now did—then you have justified pure anarchy. No, at present most people are not taking matters into their own hands and so you can make such foolish statements without suffering the consequences that true widespread anarchy would bring—immense suffering for everyone.

But as a statement, what you wrote justifies pure anarchy.

Be careful what you ask for. You might get it.
