Mowing grass in park bad. Smoking grass in park good.

It’s right out of Ayn Rand.

Make so many things illegal that even the law abiding citizens start to break laws.

You should have your ManCard revoked!

Everyone knows that anything over 3.25 inches is beyond reproach.

...our little town the mayor would come out and give me a medal for it.

While having city employees stand around at the ceremony doing nothing...

Mine will be 3.5 by the time I get home.

Its killin’ me, but in GA it has been raining every day and my mover won’t cut wet grass.

City Manager Matt Kline called the arrest unfortunate and said he understands Hamilton's frustration. Kline said budget cuts have left Sandusky understaffed for seasonal maintenance work.

"But, how can we cut the most visible services, keep the pork, and complain about budgets cuts if citizens try to help out?"

If it goes to court, a sensible judge would give this guy community service ;)

That would certainly hoist them upon their own petard!

“There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted and you create a nation of law-breakers.”

A cop (plainclothes but she identified herself as a cop) recently lectured me about my 6 year old boy, strapped in the car with a seatbelt, who she felt I was endangering by not keeping him in a booster seat longer, even though I violated no laws (CA law says seat belts alone OK after age 6).

My boy was cowering and crying with fear and thought I was endangering his life by not putting him in a booster.

So, I don’t mind being spared the lectures.

(CA is a police state.)

I bet the city groundskeepers are union and threw a fit when they heard about it.

Exactly.

Years back when responsible for the scoreboards at Yankee Stadium, I nearly caused the postponement of a playoff game because I replaced a few lightbulbs while the "electricians" were resting in the bleachers and gametime was rapidly approaching.

“Has anyone else noticed that even the smallest infractions (like this was even an infraction) are being punished with being arrested now. It used to be when I was a kid, cops lectured people on certain things.”

>According to a police report, a witness said Hamilton was blowing grass onto the sidewalk and shredding trash in the park that had not been picked up. Police said they arrested the 48-year-old Hamilton after he refused to stop mowing and charged him with obstructing official business and disorderly conduct.<

It sounds like he was arrested for being a knucklehead.

The city planted a tree in the park behind my house yesterday. I just sent them an e-mail asking it I could move it before it takes root since it’s right were we do Cub Scout games and play volleyball.

Usually my city is pretty good. I once got permission to have a dump truck drop 30 yards of topsoil in the park so I could re-landscape my yard. I tore ou the fence and rented a Bobcat. Ended up tearing up that park ground pretty good, but I made it like new and planted new seed.

Yes we DO have prisoners doing it! Look for the white vans and the guys wearing orange vests who all have khaki pants on.

The Khaki pants guys are prisoners.

seen it on 84 and 91

I used to think until last year we didn’t eaither.

Ya think that the union guys could at least show up and watch him mow the lawn.

That’s the least that they could do.
