28 May 2009 // Washington, D.C. - Today, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) released You Don’t Know Jack [1], an interactive graphic illustrating the vast reach of Rep. Jack Murtha’s (D-PA) tentacles. Rep. Murtha has been anointed the “King of Pork,” a title he shrugs off, stating, “If I’m corrupt, it’s because I take care of my district.” Indeed, Rep. Murtha takes excellent care of his district; in 2008 he earmarked $192 million for entities in his district and has requested $134 million in earmarks for the benefit of his district in the first half of 2009. Rep. Murtha has a long practice of trading lucrative earmarks for generous campaign donations. CREW’s new interactive graphic will allow visitors to explore the crooked connections between the lawmaker and the numerous special interests.
For decades, Rep. Murtha has rewarded his campaign donors with earmarks. With the news of federal investigations into the PMA Group and Kuchera Corporation -- companies with close ties to Rep. Murtha -- the scrutiny into his unethical practices has increased significantly. CREW’s interactive web graphic shows that when it comes to corruption, Rep. Murtha is no rookie; he has entangled himself in a labyrinth of shady dealings involving defense contractors, lobbyists, family members, and friends – and lots and lots of money. As new information about Rep. Murtha’s suspect activities comes to light, CREW will add to the graphic, creating a comprehensive picture of the lawmaker’s unseemly activities and network of cronies.

CREW’s a lefty outfit. The fact that they’re on Murtha’s case is proof to me that they consider him a liability to the Obama-Clinton-Soros axis.
He’s no longer a useful tool, but a growing distraction.

I'd say she's betting on indictment. That's far more likely than Murtha waking up one day and deciding to be ethical.

I can’t remember how long its been that CREW has been on Murtha’s case but I believe its been well over a year, it seems to me they’ve been ratcheting up the pressure as time has gone on.
It took some time and effort to make that graphic and it looks like Melanie Sloan is dead serious about staying on his back.
I saw the Murtha Airport report. Three flights a week, all to Washington, DC. State of the Art small town airport with almost zero traffic... IIRC, we are currently paying to repave the backup landing strip they don’t use...
Just PROOF positive that the 17th Amendment should be repealed and Section 3 of Article 1 of the US Constitution should be reinstated. Should NEVER have been overridden.
No, but he has a bunch of them plus the people who count the votes. In the last election, Cambria county was the ONLY county in W PA that changed from red to blue. Some of the other counties went from blue in '04 to red, but Cambria, the main part of his district, which had been red changed to blue in a sea of surrounding red. Interesting, huh?
Murtha panicked when that poll came out not too long before the election showing his Republican opponent right on his butt. He begged Hollywood and the $ people behind the Democrat party to help him out with an infusion of cash. He got it, and I'd love to know just how he spent it. Paying off the vote counters? Not the first time that happened in W PA with other old timey Democrat congressmen.

Ron and Bill Kuchera seem pretty nonchalant about them being barred from business with the Navy. Wonder if they’ll still feel that way 6 months from now if it still applies. :-)
