Those are some tragic stories. No more so than mine though. You see, I moved to Florida recently and badly underestimated the heat, humidity and termites. I left my guns for just a day or two and the next though I knew the socks had nothing but sawdust, melted plastic and rusty powder in them. It was heart breaking. So much so that I can’t bear the thought of buying new ones.

Well, my story is absolutely true...Hurricane Isabel (2003) sent a 5-foot tidal surge (at high tide at that) up the Chesapeake and the bottom floors of my house (as did the docks and property) ended up under water.

Now, I swear on obambi's soul that, with the high winds, my boat, gun safe, and all my cases of ammo ended up somewhere deep in the middle of the bay.

To this day, I keep asking returning fishermen, crabbers, and oyster men if they have located or seen them. No luck so far....I remain heart-broken but hopeful.
