I pretty much agree with you that Britain should be represented by someone and that Obama's treatment of Britain is bizarre and embarrassing but some of these threads go a little overboard in their worship of a Monarch.
I think your ancestors would be a little troubled by the American cult of worship of the British "Royalty", I also think that they would be shocked to find out that they still survive in their current position.
