“Like BOR’s tossing around the label of “pinhead”?

I get your point (but must say you’re a tad over sensitive IMO), but the thread is about BOR yet again trying to discredit FR as a bunch of right wing loons - twisting and distorting the facts. There is too much at stake with Zero dismantling the constitution to allow a dufus like BOR to discredit an entire population with a blatant hack job report. If BOR is so influential, and he’s so fair and balanced, he ought to become much better informed about things that really matter - like facts, free speech, and conservative principles.”

Nah, not “over sensitive”, more like “old-fashioned”. I’ve called people “pinheads” before too, but not usually to their face. ;) And I don’t have good things to say about Obama, loony libs and those in the Democrat party who support and help them. I’m no saint either.

I freely admit that I don’t care for much of the circle-shooting going on around here. Sure doesn’t seem very productive to me.

Like you said, with Obama dismantling (I’d say, “destroying”) our Constitution and his fast-moving destruction of our once great country we have far bigger fights to fight than wasting our time insulting our fellow conservatives. We’d better get our act together, and come together before it is too late.

You don’t earn respect by being disrespectful and you don’t convince others that you aren’t what they think you are by acting in a way that confirms their suspicions.

As for O’Reilly vs FR, let the chips fall where they may. I’m done with it.

"I freely admit that I don't care for much of the circle-shooting going on around here. Sure doesn't seem very productive to me."

If you mean Freepers are shooting each other, I don't see much of that. In a population this large and diverse (geo, eco, faith, etc.), it's bound to happen. I've had dust-ups with some dopie folks that I regretted because I'm drug down to their level (Prov 26:4).

But, if you are talking about bashing high profile conservatives, I call that debate. I didn't know much about Romney apart from what I've heard from his mouth on the talk show circuit. He sounds really conservative and bright. Do a search on FR for comments on him. Some have really done their homework and it's clear that Romney is not who he wants the national public to think he is. If you call that a circular shootout - it's a free country to have your own opinion (for now).

When people are debating deeply held or ingrained beliefs, it can get a little heated and rough. When that happens, it tends to make people do a lot more digging - sharpening their rhetoric and sharing their insight to prove their point or disprove the other's. That's how the best information is brought to the surface.

Sure, there are simpletons who can't string together a coherent sentence, so they revert to banal name calling, but that's the exception versus norm. I like the fruits that grow out of a vigorous debate. If you do too, this is a great place to hang out. If that's not your cup of tea, there are alternatives that are more "civil" (although I think the vast majority here are very respectful).
