Yes, but he never made past non-issue, and didn't tarnish the GOP. This is a similar problem, relatively easy to solve, but a quick look at the thread might suggest that many "conservatives" would accept support from where they can get it. A big mistake, and I'm sure one that politically aware organizers won't make.
