It’s not being done in conjunction with the July 4 events because the organizers of the National Taxpayer Tea Party movement picked these dates.

Since so many Freepers were already going to D.C. for the national event, we decided to turn it into a convention at this end so we can receive convention/group rates at a Hotel.
