California Proposition 8 ruling: PROP 8 UPHELD (faux marriages to remain)
local media

Posted on 05/26/2009 10:03:42 AM PDT by CounterCounterCulture

The California Supreme Court rules to UPHOLD Proposition 8 (which put into the California state constitution that marriage is defined as being between a man and woman)

The court also ruled on the validation of the pseudo-marriages performed before passage of Prop 8.

It seems this may be a strong point for states rights. Gays have the right to marry in other states. You are free to relocate to one of them if you so desire.

I just got called a “homophobe” by a liberal at another forum because of my support for this decision. LOL!

Megyn Kelly was subbing for Greta last night. She had some interesting commentary on this. They discussed how if the gay community really wants to make marriage legal, they are going about it the completely wrong way. They should try and make a good, CALM case convincing unsure voters about it - and then put it back on the ballot. Rather than acting hysterical and foolish and calling people biggots, haters, etc (a la Perez Hilton).

It was a hypothetical conversation (it is clear to me that she opposes gay marriage) but it was interesting.

Yes, they not only want to normalise their own degradation and perversion, they want to fly in the face of the laws of nature and paint the God-ordained, and nature-ordained, way of marriage as “breeders”. (Even though they need the progeny of the “breeders” in order to continue their perversion). I just hope I don’t live long enough to see the day when they “normalise” inflicting their perversion upon other people’s minor children-I mean other than they already do, through government education.

The seven-member court upheld the initiative as a constitutional expression of the electorate’s will...

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

I was just thinking that if this is “progress” (regarding the states which have forced their citizens to swallow “queer marriage”-forgive the metaphor), then I’ve never been happier to live in my “backwards” state.

Thank you for pointing that out to me.

I’m still surprised they let it stand as it is now.

It’s been a long time since I have been to SF. Is there still a cable car turnaround at the bottom of Judah St.?

If I recall, that was somewhere near the Cliff House.

Regards,
AR

I wish folks on our side would propose an alternative rather than hooting and screeching in derision. Monogamy should be encouraged.

Liberals are stupid-—nobody fears filthy nancy-boys prancing around flinging their purses (the butch “she-males” may be a tad more frightening), we just loathe their perversion. We may have some justifiable fear of their disease-propagating lifestyle.

I think we try, the welfare state tries to punish faithful monogamous one man, one woman nuclear families. They reward unwed motherhood and support abortion. Those of us who support traditional families are fighting the whole government.

"It seems this may be a strong point for states rights. Gays have the right to marry in other states. You are free to relocate to one of them if you so desire

This is why the Federal Judiciary and especially the Supreme Court is so damned important. Marriage has traditionally fallen under Article IV, Section I - The Full Faith & Credit Clause. In other words, if one state recognizes or codifies your marriage, all the other states are bound to recognize the marriage as well.

This is not the first time that this was an issue for marriage and the Full Faith and Credit Clause. Back near the turn of last century, Utah was facing the possibility of being stripped of it's statehood if they didn't get a handle on the polygamist marriages. Utah bowed to pressure, as did the Mormon church, all because other states didn't want to recognize polygamist marriages.

When enough states recognize homosexual marriage, it's only a matter of time until people in other states sue in Federal court under Art. IV, Sec. I, and they'll start winning. DOMA will be challenged and ultimately, like most things that are contentious social issues, will be solved at the Supreme Court. If something happens to one of our four justices before the next GOP president, homosexual marriage will certainly become the law of the land.

OK, I indulged in a bit of stereotyping in reaction to the “homophobe” label. But I really get tired of that term being used as the silver bullet, just as “racist” is.

The homosexuals are finally getting a taste of the backlash to come. The average citizen is disgusted by what they have done to our schools in trying to indoctrinate young kids into the lifestyle. People are fighting back to preserve the traditions this country was founded on. As the tide turns against them, the homosexual militants will scream bloody murder.
