10 foot tall wall.
A stray shot with a high enough trajectory could sail over this wall and into the neighbor's house or yard. It's possible. Neighbors should not be placed at any risk from the shooting, however slight.
Maybe they should pass an ordinance banning bath tubs, electricity, and leaving your home without a 2’ thick wrap of bubblewrap. After all, who knows what “could” happen...
That means nobody should be able to shoot unless they own 25 square miles?
Only if the "neighbor" is a mile or so away.
You need to brush up on your ballistics.
Right -- if they just have a berm and haven't covered the "blue skip gap", they are still endangering folks if a round goes over the berm (shooter mentioned in the article serving 8 years for manslaughter for killing a kid on a trampoline 1/3 mile downrange)
Design Criteria for Shooting Ranges
I'm a gun and 2nd amendment lover but I wouldn't want to live next to a 1 acre outdoor gun range, or downrange from a poorly constructed one
“Neighbors should not be placed at any risk...however slight”
I agree, let’s keep those dangerous automobiles off the streets too! /s
It's also possible (and more likely, given the carefully-constructed berm and direction of fire) that a car will go out of control on the road in front of their house and hurt someone in the family either in the yard or in the house. Using your logic, no one should be allowed to drive down that road.
Saying something is very remotely possible is not valid grounds for curtailment of rights, especially when it is clearly demonstrated that proper safeguards are being taken.
Freepers should not be exposed to the risk of leftist postings, however ignorant the post may be.
In my neighborhood the local ski resort was shooting 115mm shells to take down the possible avalanches. They shot hight and the shell missed the mountain conpletely and landed 7 miles away in a lady's yard and exploded. Made the news. pretty interesting.
Anyway, the people should be allowed to shoot their guns. Don't like it move to the city.
