...have dirt berms on their property and regularly practice shooting their guns... Did you miss something?
To: luvbach1
“Neighbors should not be placed at any risk from the shooting, however slight.”
That means nobody should be able to shoot unless they own 25 square miles?

This is typical of the Leftists, find the worst example of a particular entity they are against, and use that to justify new laws and restrictions that go way beyond the original issue.
Go after the ‘Stars and Bars’ to restrict free expression.
Go after smoking to restrict behavior.
Go after guns and ammo to restrict what people can buy in the marketplace today it’s ammo, tomorrow it’ll be Incandescent light bulbs.....

Agreed. And when a bullet does land there, there is a specific damage claim and a real crime.
Until then, let them shoot into their dirt berm.
To: Dead Corpse
No you did, they said their line of fire extend over open fields!!!

blah blah blah
The anti-gun boogieman doesn’t live under every rock. Sometimes “the country” changes too. Some folks don’t want to hear a lot of racket when they’re trying to relax. I can’t say I blame them.
It’s like cigarettes - why should I have to move b/c some doofus lights up next to me and I have to smell his death cloud?

This is in rural South Texas, my FRiend.

If they miss the berms. There is no evidence this occurs.
We get in to "what if's" and we'll be here all day and you'll end up in jail for driving a car.
After all, you COULD drink and drive and kill someone.
To: Dead Corpse
The items you cited in your post #20 IMO are not analogous to the issue in question. Thanks for your post.

(Worse than we could have imagined.)

In their court filings, Herrada and Valentine say they shoot in the direction of open fields and that their berms are large enough for recreational shooting. Their filings say Valentines berm is 24 feet wide, 18 feet thick and 7½ feet high and Herradas berm is 21 feet wide, 9 feet thick and 7 feet high.
A 7 foot berm is nowhere near safe folks, not when there are houses behind the berm. My guess is the neighbors have good reason to be afraid.

why should I have to move b/c some doofus lights up next to me and I have to smell his death cloud? Because it isn't your restaurant and you don't have to go there?
Why is this hard to understand?
To: Dead Corpse
The suit claims Valentine and Herrada cause a nuisance and violate the subdivisions deed restrictions, which state no noxious or offensive activity or anything which may be or may become an annoyance or nuisance to the neighborhood are allowed in the subdivision. The covenant was signed in 1979. The two Dumba** even live in a subdivision.
To: luvbach1
They are as germane as the idiocy as the plaintiff’s lawsuit.
To: Dead Corpse
Yes, but the sound is traveling on to someone else’s property.
If you live out in “the country” and your neighbors start blaring hip-hop music with professional-grade speakers, I suspect you might feel differently.
To: org.whodat
Er... So? What does that have to do with anything?
To: Dead Corpse
Rifle Range on Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area to Close Temporarily This (temporary??) range closure affects me personally; Sleepy Creek has the closest (by far) 200 yd range to my home.
I support the realignment, rebuilding, or relocation of the range. (I'd also support the prosecution of whatever brainless jerks were shooting over the berm.) YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO USE YOUR NEIGHBOUR'S PROPERTY FOR YOUR IMPACT AREA.

Been there, done that. Handled it like a man instead of a whiny little child.
To: SwinneySwitch
The law is the law my friend no matter where you live you have no legal right to fire a gun onto another's property.
To: SwinneySwitch
Osbornes should move out. Preferably to England. No worries about irresponsible gun use there.

Again, they weren’t. They were using the berms on their own property as an impact area.
