Krauthammer is on Fox right now telling another great American story - the firemen in New York - the reverse discrimination case that Sotomayor dismissed and is now before the Supreme Court. The one fireman spent $1,000 on books, studied 10-11 hours a day and had to hire a reader as he is dyslexic. This man scored at the top, but the results were thrown out and no one was promoted because no African Americans scored in the top tier on the test.
As usual, Krauthammer nails it.
Wasn’t that great...that story needs to be repeated over and over.
Yes, but isn’t that the New haven, CT, firemen? (I didn’t see Charles.)
Well you know, if my house is on fire and they show up I’m not climbing down the ladder unless they have enough blacks and hispanics on the trucks.
Believe that it was firefighters based in New Haven. Sotomayor’s opinion was considered immaterial to the basis of the case.
She’s clearly not sympathetic to white firefighters who excel not once but twice on testing that has been qualified for racial discrimination.
It’s the results that she is working from as you know, she’s sympathetic.
