I have been loading up .45ACP with lead bullets lately.

I mine my club range by the steel plates and pick up 60lbs of lead per trip.....then I smelt it in an old pot my wife dont want ouside on the coleman stove and make ingots out of a muffin tin. then I use a lee furnace to melt the clean lead into bullet molds.

as long as you can get primers and powder you can turn out rounds for around $3.00 per box of 50 .45 ACP and that's at usurious prices for primers.....

my lead rounds shoot every bit as well as FMJ loads in my 1944 Remington Rand. I save the hollow points for carry.
