The issue here is: what is a paedophile? If you answer, as would most professional psychologists since the term was first used in the 19th century, that a paedophile is an adult who is attracted to pre-pubertal children, then the vast majority of clerical offenders are not paedophiles. I Ireland and the UK, as in the US and Canada, the majority of victims (80% +) are post-pubertal male teenagers. This is the question raised by this article; it cannot be avoided.
Actually, no it is not true at all.
I hate to be the first to explain this one to you, but puberty is actually a process that takes several years and which ends when full height is achieved.
Most victims are in the midst of that period, not after it.
Very few are assaulted after they develop facial hair
That is a pretty lame attempt to twist the statistics.
Most people will recognize it as an outright lie.
It is however, an outright lie that groups like NAMBLA train people to advance. Since you are using their seminar posting tactic Emerson, it is pretty safe to assess you as being sympathetic to their goals.
The offense described here has been called ephebophilia. The offenders and drivers of ephebophilia are different, as you noted, from the offenses against prepubescent children.
Still, "paedophilia" at least in the U.S. includes the older children, up to the legal age of consent. I realize, and I suppose others do too, that there is some conceptual contamination going on here, but that is the usage among professionals and legal authorities as things stand now.
