'Extreme' desert runner Max Calderan's "Run for Love" may be more about politics than peace, despite claims by United Nations spokesman Chris Gunness that the event has little to do with religion or politics.
Nonetheless, Calderan found out the hard way that not all marathons are alike, when he encountered a snag at the Erez Crossing into Gaza, where IDF officials stopped him right in his tracks.

Calderan's route, carefully mapped out, was interesting: It appeared to stay largely within the straight-and-narrow of the PA territories, right down to his attempt to illegally enter Gaza, after being politely denied permission by Israeli authorities. And his message was even more so, given his protestations that he is an "atheist" -- it was all about God... and love, of course. Sponsored by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, funded in part by U.S. tax dollars. No religion? No politics? Let the readers decide.

Just an attempt to try and show the world how “evil” Israel is. I wouldn’t blame Israel if they did not let another Palestinian into Israel.

I’d let him run in, but first give him a slap on the back for good luck (and stick an Israeli flag sticker on his back).

Couldn’t he just protest global warming by getting frozen in and stranded in the Arctic?
