Libertas: The largest group ever to run for European elections

Brussels, May 18th: Libertas, the pan-European people’s movement for a democratic, accountable and transparent European Union, is to-date backing 613 candidates for the European elections next month. This makes Libertas the single largest group ever to run for the European elections.

488 of the 613 candidates are running directly as Libertas candidates. A further 125 are running for parties with which Libertas has formed alliances. France, Spain, Italy, Poland and the UK have the highest number of candidates.

Candidates include a former Prime Minister (Latvia), a former finance minister (Czech Republic), former presidential candidates (France), a former head of an NGO for the blind (Spain), a former soldier who fought the Taliban (UK) as well as teachers, lawyers, farmers, entrepreneurs and others from all walks of life.

The Libertas messages of more disclosure, accountability, less waste and letting people have their say in Brussels have been resonating across Europe. Several times during the campaign, the Libertas.eu website has become the most visited political party website in the world, out-performing sites such as the US Democratic party website.

*lol* ok now “we” have the largest group of politicians who will get no votes like every other group...
No one cares about this election.
What if there is an election and nobody cares...?
we will find it out (at home) on election day “of course if someone really cares to read it”.

I'm American, can't do it.

But if I could vote I would.

I'd be keeping an eye out for Brussels if I were an EU citizen.

Vote!!

I give them a year to brand the party as racist and outlaw it.

We'll see.

I'm going to keep following up on their progress. They caught my interest being prolife.

i keep an eye on Brussel (not that this really helps... but anyway). But again i really don´t know anyone in personal who said she/he will go to this vote. maybe that is excatly what the EU needs to realize that something is definitely wrong (of course if they care) that no one cares to vote for them any more. to be serious if i would care to vote in this election i could almost close my eyes before making a cross and then watch whom i voted for. the result would be the same. some one i never heard before (and of course after this so called “election”) will get a job somewhere in Brussel and now represents “me?” to do what ever they are doing there (because really nobody has a clue what to hell they are doing there). they may be important but then again people should know who or what they vote for in an election (and this is really not happening right now). so untill this gets better people will stay at home.
greetings

Now after beeing on their homepage i know exactly nothing more like before (same as about all the other political parties who i could vote for in this election). i guess this pretty much sums it up why nobody will vote in this election. i clicked on my country for information what they stand for.
