“I also have crystal clarity on exactly what the chances of it working as intended 200+ years later are. “

The rest of us don’t have such a crystal ball nor do we have such a lack of a backbone. Your attitude is one of resignation. Thank God our founding fathers didn’t say the same thing of that mighty army and navy the King of England had at his disposal and decided instead to kick his ass. We won, the rest is history.

My attitude is one of clear-headed realism.

The 2nd Amendment vision of an armed uprising was always a last resort, and I recognize that time has made such an "appeal to heaven" a chancy thing to fall back on at best. I am not confident of its success, and I have no desire to see such a tragedy take place in my country even if I were.

I also recognize that in such a scenario, the tyrannical government we would be facing would most likely have come to power with the support of the majority of my fellow citizens, meaning the political and cultural battles would have already been lost. Therefore, I plan to pre-empt such a nightmare for my country by doing my best to win those battles.

The only thing I am resigning myself to is that some of those who call themselves conservatives will refuse to fight faithfully with me because they live in a world of ideology where they bear no responsibility for the consequences of their actions or inaction.
