In the context of the thread and the present discussion, IMO John Kasich is a better choice for OH governor that Ted Strickland. Kasich may not be 100% ideologically pure for some, but from my viewpoint he is an acceptable choice, being pro-life and having reasonably solid conservative credentials. He has name recognition and can probably generate support within the statewide party structure, and that will help him with fundraising. That improves his viability as a candidate. I know him personally from having worked on his first campaign for state Senate, and I know he is a smart man. I have reasonable confidence that he will listen to reason and be open to persuasion on areas where he may disagree on specific issues, but not compromise on larger principles. I have no confidence that Ted Strickland, or any other 'Rat, will do likewise. They are in Obombah's pocket. Kasich isn't.
I feel the same way on the 2nd amendment and that is also part of a pro-life stance. If one doesn't have the right to save one's life, then the "right to life" is meaningless.
I am more than willing to allow you your view on that, but when you say that you won't vote for someone that is pro-abortion, then you are a 90%er as well, which would fit your own characterization stated in your earlier post. That's all I'm saying. Again, I don't hold it against you for that view and, imo, I don't think you should hold it against me for my view either.
