Oh, so you actually read what I said the second time around. Good for you. We'll say no more of your embarrassing earlier mistake.

"Tell that to the Jews of Europe, circa 1942."

I can't, they're dead. Because they didn't have guns, I suppose?

"Tell it to the Warsaw Jews."

Oh wait, they did have guns, and yet they're dead too, and the gap between the firepower a private citizen can muster and the firepower a military can muster is even bigger today than it was then.

They were courageous people, and they did the best thing they could given the limited options available to them, but they never had a chance.

I, for one, do not intend to follow in their footsteps. I intend to stop things well before they reach that point by, among other things, winning some elections, something a lot of FReepers these days apparently couldn't care less about because they would cut off not just their nose but their entire head to spite their face.

"Tell it to the well-armed and never-invaded Swiss."

This is the part where I call you on trying to change the subject from an uprising-against-a-tyrannical-domestic-government scenario to an invasion-by-a-foreign-power scenario. Nice try.

"I guess the difference between us is that some folks are naturally cowards, who project that flaw on everyone else."

And now we bottom out with insults and name-calling. Ho-hum.

Well... Not really. The Jews of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising had very few functioning firearms. Most were unarmed. Those who were armed were mostly armed with handguns. Jewish forces had a few rifles, but not enough to matter; which makes your next statement immaterial:

...and the gap between the firepower a private citizen can muster and the firepower a military can muster is even bigger today than it was then.

The gun-owning Jews of Warsaw can hardly be compared to gun-owning Americans of today. They didn't have "black guns", they didn't have scoped deer rifles, they didn't have mountains of ammo. They certainly couldn't head on down to Walmart to stock up. Above all, there weren't 80-100 million of them! The "gap" as you call it is nonexistent.
