Sarah Palin Picks Christian Journalist to Collaborate on Memoir
USNews ^ | 5/22/09 | Dan Gilgoff

Sarah Palin has picked a Christian author and magazine journalist to collaborate with her on her forthcoming memoir for HarperCollins. The journalist, Lynn Vincent, has been at World—the nation's best-read Christian newsmagazine—for the last 10 years as a writer and editor.

This isn't a surprising choice for Palin, but it's certainly one worth noting. It's more evidence that she's honing a distinctly Christian public image since coming off the campaign trail last year. This seems to be a change from the days when she was a state-level figure, almost entirely unknown outside of Alaska.

They already have, Lou. No worries - the book will still outsell anything a lib puts out at the time. However, I’m not convinced she’s planning a run for POTUS or VPOTUS anyway. I think she’s just interested in getting her version out.

Now if Sarah Palin who had picked a collaborator who was an avowed atheist or secular humanist would you be making the claim that Sarah was trying to dampen talk of her Christian roots.

Why can’t Sarah have chosen Lynn Vincent because she considers Lynn an outstanding writer and editor, is a woman and feels the most comfortable with her as she is telling Lynn her story?

They’ll probably make a special version so Romney can understand.

I must have been absent when the Romney/Palin war happened. I don’t remember her ever saying anything negative about him. Is the problem that he wasn’t picked for VP?

Sarah - I didn't say McCain was your guy; I said your guy (Thompson? Huck?) lost to McCain as did Romney.

Deb - I don't know what Romney has to do with this discussion, either.

After our BOy President finishes wrecking the country, I hope the American people - after having committed a gross stupidity in November 2008 - have the good sense to put Sarah Palin in the Oval Office. A lot of our current “opinion leaders” are going down with the wreckage. Sarah will only look better and better.

No, the real question is why can't this woman write her own gd book? Do you really want to nominate someone for PRESIDENT who can't frigging WRITE her own book? Goddamn.

I think we all know the answer as to WHY she needs someone else to write it.

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

Similar to Romney's other scortched earth tactics:

Novak: "Fred Thompson drop-out rumors traced to Romney campaign"

Said Novak: "The rumors were traced in part to Mitt Romney's campaign,
trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson
."

"Despite outspending his rivals by huge margins throughout the primaries,
(Mitt Romney, Carpetbagger UT,CA,MA,NH,Mexico) lost Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and California.
The only primaries he won were in Michigan, where Dad was governor; LDS states;
and a few states on Super Tuesday in which his California-obsessed rivals
couldn't spare the cash to advertise.
Only John Connolly in 1968 had a worse cash-to-delegates ratio.
And John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries.
(W)hen (Romney's early leads) started slipping away, he resorted to unfair,
distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't
afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges."

Geez, Dick Morris sure hated Romney. Nothing has made me sadder than the way Republicans treated each other during this campaign.

I’m still confused. Do the Romney people hate Palin? Do the Thompson people hate her? I don’t care about Huckabee or McCain.

I liked Fred Thompson, liked him the best out of all of them, but at the end of the day, thought none of them were presidential material. McCain reminds me of a Republican version of Obama..
The only reason why Romney came up in the discussion was because you posted about how did not know that HarperCollins publishes coloring books, which was a diss at Sarah, then someone else posted some of your other remarks on other threads as a paid Romney bot, saying other nasty things about her. Look, did she do well with her interview with Katie Couric, no, but not for the reason you might suspect.
What kind of question is “What do you read” anyway, what did she expect her to say “I read the damn funnies” Couric was NO friend of Sarah’s, and she wanted to embarrass her, plus Couric is pro-choice, and Sarah is pro-life, she knew the interview was not going well the second the abortion issue came up. No one brings up Couric’s interview with Joe Biden, which he talks about FDR going on TV in 1929, that was a HORRENDOUS interview, but hey, that’s Joe being Joe right.
I just think it’s wrong to bash a person who has never said one bad thing about ANY Republican, not Huckabee, not Romney, not anyone, yet they continue to say nasty things about her which I think is WRONG

The 'paid Romney' line is really a lie. I did one hour of consulting for them a long time ago for a caucus - I can't even remember which state. Wyoming maybe? And I gave them the max donation in the primary, so I didn't make any money from those guys.

Look - she bombed that interview with Couric. This isn't about defending 'our' candidate in the midst of an election. It's about finding the right candidate to nominate for the next one. And everything about her - the interviews, her speaking style sans teleprompter - even this story here where she reveals that she can't write her own book - tells me she doesn't have what it takes, intellectually - to be our nominee. There are better people out there; go find them.

I am glad she got a book deal but was unaware that HarperCollins published coloring books.

Sure they do. After all, what would people such as you do to pass time whilst the adults read?

...and please, try to stay inside the lines.

Look - these were not hard questions. I mean - you or I might actually be more knowledgeable about issues - both foreign and domestic - than she is.

You or I could have given a much better answer to that question.

I don’t know anyone who hates her. I don’t know about any of that. All I know is that we need to find someone better to lead our movement/party/country.

Perhaps if you had actually READ the article, you would have seen that she has already written 20,000 of her OWN words..Obama had Bill Ayers write his book, at least Sarah is pretty much writing her own book. She keeps journals, which will all be included in the book

If Joe Biden, who is an IDIOT, can become Vice President, then anyone can do it. Vice President basically means being the mouthpiece of the President..and Obama, has put the bar so low as far as being President, I might run in 2012. I understand your points on certain things, but can you knock off the bashing. Sarah isn’t perfect, and she never said she wanted to be the head of the party, she made mistakes, yes, but enough of the crap about calling her stupid. I consider myself pretty darn intelligent but I could NEVER Govern a state, I don’t have the talent to do that. At least respect her for the amazing job she has done for Alaska, she pretty much cleaned up that state
