Right wing talk radio has their own fantasies that their programmed listeners repeat blindly too. The have some simple narratives they repeat and pick their facts to defend. I was a follower myself till last year when the so called “Great Bush Recovery” crashed and talk radio suddenly became knowledgeable in the area. Time for some honesty on that side too.

The “Great Gun Rush and Ammo Dearth” says that it’s time for violence and revolution to be considered should that honesty NOT be forthcoming... and that’s good.

The economic collapse was caused by economic tinkering, primarily by Senator Phil Gramm in 1999 and 2000 which gave rise to the derivatives market. This market put a new exponent on the economic system. When the economy did good, the derivative market was real good, and the economy was given a added boost. When the economy hit a snag, like during the Dot Com crisis and 9-11, the derivatives market gave an extra boost to the downward swing. However in both cases, the economy recovered.

We saw the economy recover from the Dot Com and the 9-11 disaster. This gave a false sense of security when the economy recovered. Things went well all through the Bush Administration. All along there were misgivings about derivatives and calls were made for changes. However, people would ask, why fix something that is working? We know the answer to that one.

The 2006 elections gave Congress to the Democrats. The Democrats ignored the calls for change. They did not want to kill the golden goose of the derivatives market that brought in money for them. And the press destroyed for President Bush the power of the bully pulpit. Whatever he said would also be ignored.

Then, forces arose that were never experienced in the economy before. The economy collapsed like a house of cards which repeated the same events that occurred 100 years ago with the Banking Panic of 1907. Read up on that event and pay close attention to the activity called Bucket Shops. These were the equivalent to today's derivatives market. Study up folks.

That’s called partisanship.

We can’t all walk around disinterestedly in robes, talking about beauty and truth with our heads in the cosmos.
