I believe Dr. Sowell is saying basically the same thing when he states at the end of this article: “And I think we see politicians today repeating one of the features of New Deal policies in that the policies seem not geared toward getting us out of our current problem as quickly as possible, but to use the problem to create enduring institutional changes to the very nature of the American economy.”
I’m not as subtle as Dr. Sowell is. Perhaps I should be.
You make an excellent point, RQSR and I believe you’re right.
When it comes to being as subtle as Dr. Sowell that’s an awful tall order and not one to worry about if one isn’t.
